Hospital doctor. Community advocate. Fighter for Virginia’s 2nd.
Dr. Nila Devanath is a Harvard lawyer, Yale medical doctor, and the proud daughter of immigrants from Bangladesh who made their home in Hampton Roads over forty years ago...
That belief has guided her life’s work...
Every day, Dr. Devanath sees the human cost...
She is running for Congress to fix a broken health care system, bring down the cost of living, and make sure no one in Hampton Roads goes bankrupt just because they got sick.
Dr. Nila Devanath has spent her life fighting for people’s lives — and she is ready to do the same in Congress.
Where Nila stands
From healthcare and affordability to veterans and education, Dr. Nila Devanath is focused on practical, people-first solutions that improve everyday life across Hampton Roads and Virginia’s 2nd District.
As a physician, Dr. Devanath has seen firsthand how cost and access barriers hurt families. She supports lowering prescription costs, protecting coverage, and expanding access to quality care.
Too many working families are stretched thin. Nila supports practical affordability solutions that strengthen wages, support small businesses, and lower the cost burdens people face every day.
Veterans deserve timely care, strong benefits, and real support without red tape. Nila will fight to improve access, responsiveness, and mental health support for veterans and their families.
Every child deserves a strong public education. Nila supports neighborhood schools, teachers, and pathways that prepare students for college, careers, and service.
Safe communities need both strong response systems and smart prevention. Nila supports first responders, crisis intervention, and community-based strategies that reduce violence and build trust.
Seniors have earned dignity and stability. Nila supports protecting Social Security and Medicare, lowering medication costs, and strengthening services that help older Virginians live independently.
